Bats Wake Up in 9-2 win

Texarkana, Texas (May 29, 2017)-It was a completely different Bombers squad that took the field in Texarkana today than the previous three games, as they lit up the scoreboard for 9 runs, and defeated the Twins 9-2 on Memorial Day.

The Bombers started their best offensive output of the season early putting up a run an inning for the first third of the game. Then in the middle three innings, they decided to up their output to TWO runs per inning, putting up 9 runs in the first 6 innings.

Nine runs were more than enough for the Bombers tonight, especially with the way that the bullpen has thrown in the past three games. They entered the game with a 9 inning scoreless streak and then added 5 more to that total tonight, making it 14 straight innings without a reliever giving up a run.

Behind a solid start from Ross Bludau, the trio of Troy Anderson, Dayden Lane, and Gavin Alvarez combined for 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, and 7 Ks.

But that’s enough about the incredible bullpen work…let’s give some credit to the hitter’s shall we?…

Seven of the nine hitters in the Bomber’s lineup crossed the plate at one point tonight, proving the complete effort it was from the dish. Some of the notables were: Thomas Jeffries who went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs, 2 SB, HBP, and 1 Nosebleed. Ryan Benavidez had a magnificant night in left field making THREE Top 10-esque plays and a 2 RBI night as a cherry on top. And Dallas Stefano had a solid night going 3-5 with an RBI as well.

With the win, the Bombers finish their first road-trip of the season 2-2, splitting both series, and will return for their home-opener at Nutrabolt Stadium on Thursday at 7:05pm.
