Bryan-College Station, TX (June 22, 2014) – The Brazos Valley Bombers hosted their annual summer camp on June 19th and 20th, welcoming over 90 kids from the Bryan-College Station area to receive instruction and participate in drills with the Bombers players.
The event was sponsored for the second consecutive year by the Haddock Foundation, who provided food and personalized shirts for the campers.
The first day of the camp featured instruction from the Bombers pitching staff, allowing the campers to hone their skills on the mound from 9 a.m. to noon. After a break for lunch, the campers were allowed to play on the Bombers’ inflatable machines from 1-3 p.m. to conclude the day’s events.
Day two focused on improving the campers’ swings with various drills including hitting off the tee, taking soft toss, and batting practice with the pitching machine. The campers finished off with some base running tips from the players before breaking for lunch. The camp ended with another round of inflatables to conclude one of the largest Bombers camps to date.
Each camper that attended the camp received a personalized dry-fit tee with their name across the back, an official Texas Collegiate League baseball, and five tickets to the Bombers’ final fireworks game on June 28th.
