Bryan-College Station, TX (June 3, 2014) – In their first appearance on the newly christened “Cellucor Field,” the Brazos Valley Bombers (5-0) won their home opener 8-4 Tuesday night against the Acadiana Cane Cutters (1-3).
The Bombers fell into a 1-0 hole in the top of the third inning, but would take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the frame and push their lead to 5-1 by the top of the sixth.
The Cane Cutters threatened in the seventh, cutting the Bombers lead to 5-3, but the Bombers pushed three runs across in the eighth inning to all but cement a win in their first home outing of the season.
The Bombers will play the Cane Cutters in the second game of a four game home stand Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. at Cellucor Field. All Bombers games can be viewed online at www.ustream.tv/channel/brazos-valley-bombers-baseball.
