Trio From Oral Roberts to Play for BombersThe Bombers have added three more players to the roster as they continue to bring together a team for the 2013 season. Graham McIntyre, Tyler Boss, and Guillermo Trujillo are the latest players to become members of the 2013 Bombers squad. Coming to the Brazos Valley from Oral Roberts University, this trio has great comraderie and enjoys playing with one another. This will provide the Bombers with great chemistry on the roster.
Graham McIntyre is a 6'1” outfielder from Jenks Oklahoma. In his earlier career at Jenks High School, Graham was an All-Metro selection in 2010 while also reaching the state semifinals during his sophomore and senior seasons. McIntyre spent his sophomore season at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilberton helping the Mountaineers to their Region II Championship. Graham compiled 64 hits and hit a team high nine home runs. In his junior season for Oral Roberts this spring, McIntyre has an average of .296 with 16 games played and 14 games started. He has a total of 6 RBIs, 16 hits, and 8 runs for an impressive start to his season. The Bombers are hoping that the pop in his bat continues in the Brazos Valley this summer.
Coming to the Bombers from Spring, Texas, Tyler Boss is a Red-shirt Junior for Oral Roberts this season. This outfielder had an impressive 2 years playing for Blinn College. As a sophomore Boss hit .317 in the season with 10 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers and 17 RBIs. During his freshman year, Boss hit .309 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, and 21 RBIs. In his first season with Oral Roberts, Tyler is hitting .254 with 11 RBIs, 5 runs, and 11 hits with 15 games started and played. With the consistency in Tyler's hitting, the Bombers are looking at a great addition to round out the roster.
The Bombers have also signed El Paso native Guillermo Trujillo. Playing under Andy Powers at Franklin High School, Trujillo helped lead his team to District 1-5A champions and runner-up during junior and senior seasons. Guillermo was named 2011 First Team All-District, as well as Pitcher of the Year and Louisville Slugger All-American. "Guillermo is certainly someone who has earned everything in his career and he's got so much potential," Franklin coach Andy Powers said. With offers from Arizona, New Mexico, Lamar, North Carolina, and Texas Tech, Guillermo chose ORU due to the Christian atmosphere, athletics, and academics. So far in the season Guillermo has had 15 strikeouts in 16.2 innings. With a good start, he seems to have made the right choice with ORU. The Bombers are hoping that playing in the Brazos Valley this summer will be the right choice for Guillermo as well. Bombers fans and teammates will be impressed with this player's drive, which is just what the Bombers need for a shot at being named the 2013 TCL Champions.
The Bombers start their season on the road against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on May 30th. Opening day at American Momentum Ballpark will be on June 4th versus the Woodland Strykers.
