The Bombers bats came on strong on Friday night to deal the Aces their second loss of the back half of the TCL season. The 7-4 win was a nice rebound for the Bombers coming off their tough loss on Thursday to the Pump Jacks.
Jacob House, who recently joined the active roster after finishing the season with the Texas A&M Aggies, spearheaded the strong effort at the plate. House went 3-4 in the game, driving in a run and scoring one. Casey Dykes also scored 3 runs for the team.
The Bombers faced some late inning drama, as the Aces put up 2 runs in the 8th inning. Reliever Jameson Holt was called on to stop the bleeding, and quickly shut down the next 3 hitters to escape the frame without further damage. Garrett Shepperd came on in the 9th inning to record his 8th save of the season, which is just one shy of the Bombers all-time single-season record in the category.
The Bombers will wrap up their 4-game home stand Saturday night against the Aces. The team will welcome the famous Reggy the Purple Party Dude to the ballpark for Kids Free Saturday, presented by Chicken Express, before resting on Sunday and traveling to Acadiana to take on the Cane Cutters early next week.
