The Bombers had a season high in attendance on Thursday night with 1437 fans on hand to enjoy the second Thirsty Thursday of the young season. The Bombers will head to Victoria to take on the Generals for their weekend series, before returning home to Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark on Monday. Also coming to the ballpark on Monday are TV stars Rico and Raini Rodriguez from ABC's Modern Family, and Tuesday will usher in Pirate Night thanks to Shipwreck Grill.
The Bombers hit their first home run of the season tonight off the bat of shortstop Brennyn Smith. He was one of the few bright spots for the Bombers tonight, as they fell to the PumpJacks 9-3. Head Coach Brent Alumbaugh's night was over in the seventh inning, as he was ejected while trying to light a fire under his team. After openly disagreeing with the umpire's calls for several innings, Alumbaugh was ultimately ejected for arguing balls and strikes.
Next week starts off with two home games for the Bombers, including the first Monday Feast of the season, where fans can enjoy 50 cent hot dogs, popcorn, and peanuts. Tuesday will be movie ticket night at the ballpark, where fans will receive tickets to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie at the appropriately themed Shipwreck Grill's Pirate Night, before going on the road in the middle of the week.
