Bryan-College Station, TX (August 10, 2010) – The Brazos Valley Bombers are proud to announce that two of the team’s players have been named to the 2010 All-Texas Collegiate League team. The Bombers honored are shortstop Isaac Nuti and first baseman Wes Patterson.
Nuti excelled as the home-town hero, covering the infield and delivering clutch hitting from either side of the plate. On the season, Nuti led the Bombers in games played, batting average, at-bats, hits, runs scored, and total bases. He was also second in RBI, doubles and stolen bases.
At first base, Patterson was a reliable resource on defense, maintaining a .990 fielding percentage. Patterson led the team in home runs, doubles and RBI, was second in total bases, and third in hits. Patterson was also the 2010 TCL All-Star game MVP and finished second in the Home Run Derby.
The honors add to the already incredible list of accomplishments this team has achieved in the 2010 campaign and a great deal of confidence as the team continues it’s first playoff series of the 2010 season against the East Texas Pump Jacks.
Should the Bombers defeat the Pump Jacks tonight or tomorrow evening the Bombers could host game 1 of the next series against the Victoria Generals on Fireworks Friday this Friday if the Generals also win their series against the Texas Tomcats. Both the Bombers and Generals hold 1-0 leads in their series. For more information and for tickets visit bvbombers.com, call 979-779-PLAY, and visit 405 Mitchell Street in Bryan.
