Bryan-College Station, TX (July 1, 2010) – The Brazos Valley Bombers lost a heartbreaker to the Victoria Generals Thursday night, 6-5 in eleven innings. Over 1000 fans braved the elements to celebrate stroke awareness night presented by Sjprevention.com to honor stroke survivors and watch a fantastic ballgame.
The Bombers fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first, but fought back with three in the bottom of the inning with a Jacob House RBI single, a passed ball, and a John Cannon bases loaded walk to make the score 1-3. The score stayed put there until the top of the seventh when the Generals pushed four across, grabbing a 5-3 lead.
The Bombers got one right back in the bottom of the seventh on a House sacrifice fly, scoring Isaac Nuti to make the score 5-4. The Bombers kept the game in range until the ninth when they tied it up with Greg Olson scoring on a wild pitch to tie it at 5-5. The Generals finally scored again in the top of the eleventh and the Bombers were unable to answer, losing 6-5.
The Bombers will be back in action tomorrow night on Fireworks Friday against the North Texas Copperheads.
