Bombers Get First Sellout Thanks to TwinCityProperties.com

Bryan-College Station, TX (June 15, 2010) – Thanks to Twin City Properties the Brazos Valley Bombers broke five records tonight, four world records and one attendance record. 3583 made it out to Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark for the first Free Ticket Tuesday of the season, shattering the old Bombers record of 1865 and breaking the Texas Collegiate League record for attendance as well. The raucous crowd had plenty to cheer about tonight as the Bombers beat the Texas TomCats 12-1.

Twin City Properties made the Bombers first sellout ever possible, buying out the entire stadium for the evening and then giving away tickets to the local community. Before the game even began thousands were on hand for the Bryan United Little League closing ceremonies.

Bombers fans broke four world records on the evening, including the record for most people blowing noisemakers, making Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark sound as though it was filled with vuvuzelas, the horns heard throughout World Cup broadcasts.

The Bombers set the season record for largest margin of victory as well, winning by 11 tonight. The Bombers got things started quickly after the Tomcats scored one on a wild pitch in the top of the first. In the home half of the inning, the Bombers scored five on singles by Josh McElroy, Ryan Morrow, a ball that was dropped off of the glove of the left fielder hit by Tanner Toal, and a two RBI single by Casey Dykes to put the Bombers ahead 5-1.

The Bombers added one more in the fourth with Wes Patterson scoring on a wild pitch. In the sixth a Rodarrick Jones triple set up a Michael Flores sacrifice fly making the score 7-1. McElroy led off the next inning with a triple of his own, also scoring on a sacrifice fly, this one by Morrow, making the score 8-1. The Bombers poured it on in the ninth, adding one on a bases loaded walk to Isaac Nuti, two on a throwing error by the TomCats second baseman, and one more one a Morrow groundout making the score 12-1.

Bombers’ pitching was outstanding again holding the TomCats to one run and four hits on the strength of starter Michael Hilliard and relievers Blake Fonfara and Kyle Blackwell. The trio combined for eight strikeouts on the evening.

The Bombers will be back in action tomorrow night against the East Texas Pump Jacks on Mardi Gras Night. It will be a Margaritaville Wednesday with $1 margaritas all night.
