The Brazos Valley Bombers and the city of College Station teamed up in their efforts to make the world a greener place this past week, as Bombers owner Uri Geva presented the city with a $1,200 check towards the Green Initiative. The money, which was raised at the Bombers Green Jersey auction on June 28, will go towards a charitable organization of the city’s choice.
The Bombers demonstrated their resolve to help the environment this past season as they hosted Bombers Go Green Night at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark on June 28. The team wore green jerseys as they battled the McKinney Marshals in front of 1136 fans who came out to support the cause. The Bombers auctioned off the green jerseys throughout the game, with the proceeds going to the city of College Station. Last week, Geva presented the check, along with a commemorative green jersey that was autographed by the entire 2008 Bombers team, to mayor Ben White at the City of College Station Council Meeting. The Bombers would like to send out a special thank you to all their sponsors and everyone who made Go Green Night possible.
