The Bombers struck first, taking a 2-0 lead through three innings, but the Pumpjacks slowly crawled back into the ballgame and took a 4-2 run heading into the bottom of the 9th inning. Kip Masuda got things started for the Bombers, driving a pitch into the left field gap for a double. After Jake Sharrock walked to put runners on 1st and 2nd, the Pumpjacks brought in Kory Cleveland to stem the tide. With one out and Chad Colbert up, pinch runner Brian Nelson and Sharrock performed a double steal, taking 2nd and 3rd. Nelson came into score when Chad Colbert grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring the Bombers within a run.
Todd Cunningham, representing the final chance for the Bombers, lined a shot into center field, but De Le Garza made a great catch to save the win for the Pumpjacks.
