A week after handing former Bomber Clint Helms his first loss of the season, Helms and the Pumpjacks got some revenge as they defeated Brazos Valley 10-5. The Bombers made four costly errors that prevented them from staying in the ballgame.
East Texas jumped out a 9-1 lead and never looked back. Helms was wild but effective, only allowing two hits in five innings and only give up a single run, as the Pumpjacks took advantage of the errors and several wild pitches to go on to win their third game in the last four tries. Six of the Pumpjacks 10 runs were unearned due to the Bombers’ errors, and they were unable to recover from the deficit.
The Bombers will face East Texas again tomorrow in a rematch before heading home for a six game home stand.
