Texas A&M Aggie catch Andrew Nettune had a night to remember in Brazos Valley on Margaritaville Wednesday, as he almost single-handedly carried the Pumpjacks to a 13-7 victory over the hometown Bombers. Nettune hit a TCL record two grand slams and finished the game with nine RBI. The feat puts Nettune in unique company, as only 12 players in Major League history have ever enjoyed the night he had tonight.
The Bombers had a solid night offensively, scoring seven runs on 17 hits, but were unable to overcome two swings that gave the Pumpjacks eight runs. As has become a recurring theme for the Bombers in their first two weeks of the season, they struggled to knock in runners in crucial situations. The Bombers left 14 runners on base and struck out 12 times as they were never able to overcome the Pumpjacks early12 run lead.
Margaritaville Wednesday was a great success tonight as fans enjoyed the $2 Margaritas and Margaritaville culture. The Bombers will travel to Coppell tomorrow to begin a six game road trip until returning home next Thursday. The Bombers will host East Texas for Thirsty Thursday, which will feature $1 Beers and $0.50 Soft Drinks.
