McGonigle, Privateers sink Nicholls State
Jim McGonigle pitched a scoreless inning yesterday striking out one, as the University of New Orleans rolled to an 11-1 victory over Nicholls State. It was the Privateers ninth win in their last 11 games and they are now 17-9 on the season.
Long Beach State’s slump continues
Long Beach State, previously ranked #4 and looking like the team to beat this season, has now lost six in a row on their season-high 10 game road trip. They came close, but in the end, Fresno State came out on top with a 7-6 win. Dustin Rasco was one of the few bright spots for the Dirtbags, pitching a scoreless 5th inning.
McNeese State can’t solve Tulane
Shon Landry has carried McNeese State’s offense all season with his rare combination of power, patience, and speed. He played brilliantly yet again, going 2-for-4 and scoring a run, but McNeese State’s pitchers couldn’t get the job done in a 10-3 loss to Tulane.
