Brazos Valley Takes Tough Loss to End Wild Generals VS Bombers Four Game SeriesBryan/College Station, TX (July 22, 2023) – The final score of the evening would be 11-7 in favor of Victoria at Edible Field to end this Bomber vs Generals four game matchup. This wild series was made up of two games ending in walk offs and three of the four being a one run difference proving how competitive this matchup is. The arguably best matchup in the league will meet up again for another electric battle next Tuesday in Victoria who, unfortunately for Brazos Valley, ended up winning this series with three victories and only one loss this past week. Tonight’s catcher Maddox Miesse played a crucial role in getting things started for the Bombers on offense with a base hit placed through the six hole in the fifth to earn the first hit of the evening. With this new found momentum to wake up the team, Casey Sunseri earned an RBI double off a beautiful hit into right center field to score energy starter Maddox Miesse and Jordan Medellin! This perfectly placed hit got the Bombers on the board for the first time of the evening and ended Victoria pitchers punch out streak!
The Bombers rolled into the next inning keeping the hit streak going with a base hit into right field for Angelo State Ram, Jacob Guerrero who followed that up with a display of speed advancing to second on a pass ball and shortly after stole third. Cole Plowman also saw a positive trend in his game tonight, earning a leadoff double late in the seventh going deep up the right foul line. On a series of walks in the seventh a line of runs came in for the Bombers this evening putting them back in the ball game.
The first Bomber to score in the seventh was Cole Plowman who was the leadoff for the inning coming home from a Justin Harris walk. Harris’s teammate Jacob Guerrero brought up an RBI single in the next at bat allowing Casey Sunseri and Jordan Medellin to score making the deficit even smaller. Both Division 2 National champions Justin Harris and Jacob Guerrero score on wild pitches at the final at bat of the seventh bringing the score to 9-7. This would conclude the energy on offense to unfortunately result in a loss for this Brazos Valley team.
