Bryan/College Station, Texas (June 27, 2017)-The Bombers spent the first 8 innings of Tuesday night's matchup with Victoria only seperated by a single run, before busting things open with a 6-run top of the 9th to win 9-2 over the Generals.
Michael Mokma was back on the mound for the 4th time this season with a 3-0 record and a 1.80 ERA looking for win number 4. He went 5 innings and gave up only two runs in a solid start then was followed by 3 innings of relief from Brandon Ivey and then an inning from Reid Morgan as well.
The lineup had a sliver of life early with a Chase Calabuig triple and a run in the 4th to start the scoring. In the 5th, the Generals struck for two of their own to take a 2-1 lead before the bombers regained the lead 3-2 in the top of the 6th.
Another big game from Chase Calabuig, who was joined by Will Olsen and Allonte Wingate who all had multiple base-hits on the night.
Wednesday afternoon the Bombers will travel back to Victoria with a 5-game lead over the Generals in the Baylor Scott & White TCL Standings.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and the pre-game show can be found on Sports Radio 1150 The Zone and radioaggieland.com starting at 6:45pm.
