Bryan/College Station, Texas (June 15, 2017)-In front of an entertained croud at Nutrabolt Stadium on a night when BB McCoy stole the show, the Brazos Valley Bombers came up short in an 9-2 loss to the Texarkana Twins.
The pitching was great early on but the Texarkana bats got to Cole Pletka in the 2nd with a 3-spot in the inning. The Bombers answered quickly in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2, but that would be it for the Bombers bats.
Texarkana took care of business behind a strong outing from Shane McCarley. McCarley gave up 2 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, and struck out 4 in 6 IP.
Some of the bright spots in the win was some solid defense and a 2-4 day for leadoff hitter and shortstop Allonte Wingate.
The Bombers have their lead in the TCL standings stay at 2 games over Victoria who dropped their game against the Texas Marshals, and Acadiana who had the night off.
The Bombers stay at home against the Texarkana Twins on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm Wednesday and you can catch the pre-game show starting at 6:45pm all on Willy 1550, and radioaggieland.com.
