Bryan/College Station, Texas (June 9, 2017)-The Brazos Valley Bombers saw their winning-streak of 9 straight come to an end with an 5-3 loss to the Victoria Generals Friday night at Nutrabolt Stadium.
The scoring started early with a 3-run bottom of the first inning that included a Troy Anderson 2-run single that made it 3-0 Bombers.
After that, the starting pitcher Chase Maddux was able to get out of a few tight situations and ended with 6 strong innings giving up 2 ER, 7 H, with 5 BB, 2 Ks. After the strong outing, Seth Oliver struggled in his Bombers debut and allowed 3 runs in the top of the 7th.
That's where the score got to 5-3 and the Victoria bullpen did the rest to secure the victory for the Generals.
With the loss, the Bombers keep their full game lead in the TCL standings over Acadiana, due to a comeback by the Texas Marshals to defeat the Cane Cutters 8-7 in 10 innings.
The Bombers have one more game in their "ten-games in ten-days" stretch and will stay at home Saturday night to play the Generals for the fourth time this season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and you can catch the pre-game show starting at 6:45pm all on Willy 1550, and radioaggieland.com.
