Youngsville, Louisiana (May 26, 2017)- In a season opening rematch of last year's TCL title game, the Acadiana pitching staff confused Bombers hitters holding them to just 3 hits.
The Bombers lost 10-2 on the road at Fabacher field. Along with the woes in the lineup, it was a rough outing for Chase Maddux with 4.0 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, and 1 BB. He was followed by Reid Morgan and Clayton Hill out of the bullpen. Both had strong first innings of relief, but struggled in their second innings.
Allonte Wingate and Michael Helman started the scoring in the top of the first when Wingate reached on an error, stole 2nd, then went to 3rd on a pass ball before scoring off a Helman groundout to second.
From then on out, it was all Acadiana once they answered in the bottom of the inning and went on to score 4 in the 4th, 2 in the 6th, and another 2 in the 8th to get into double digits
The two teams will meet again tomorrow, May 27th at Fabacher field to conclude the two game series. First pitch is set for 7:05pm, pre-game starts at 6:45 on 1150 The Zone, and Facebook Live.
