Bryan-College Station, Texas(April 10, 2017)- The Brazos Valley will see some familiar faces this summer at Nutrabolt Stadium as the Bombers have signed former Bryan High School standouts Willy Amador and Landon Miner.
Amador, who is currently at Rice University, starred on the mound last summer for the Bombers while Miner is a key bullpen piece for Texas A&M this season.
Miner is a true freshman for the Aggies and is third on the team in appearances with 12. He has struck out 12 in 19 innings of work and has allowed an opponent’s batting average of just .182. Miner’s ERA for the season is 3.32. He began his career at A&M with a 9 inning scoreless streak. He earned his first win against Stephen F. Austin and his first save against Brown.
Willy Amador was dominant last year for the Bombers as he posted a 5-1 record with a 2.50 ERA and struck out 60 in 40 innings. He closed out the TCL Championship game, pitching the final inning and striking out two. He tied the lead league last season in strikeouts. Amador was named the starting pitcher for the Vermillion Reds in the 2016 TCL All-Star game and struck out two in an inning of work. He currently has 20 strikeouts in 20 innings of play this season for Rice.
