Bryan-College Station, Texas (March 20, 2017)- The 4-time TCL Champion Brazos Valley Bombers announced today that Texas Aggies Chris Andritsos and Michael Helman will be joining the team for the upcoming 2017 season.
Andritsos is currently on Texas A&M’s roster while Helman is committed to play for the maroon and white next season.
Chris Andritsos transferred to A&M by way of the University of Oklahoma. While at Oklahoma in 2016, Andritsos showed his versatility by pitching and playing the field. Andritsos made 12 starts for the Sooners and compiled a 4-6 record through 65 innings. At the plate, Andritsos compiled a .250 batting average with a triple and 6 RBIs. The 6-foot-4 sophomore is from The Woodlands, Texas.
The second Aggie signee for the Bombers is Lincoln, Nebraska native, Michael Helman. He is currently playing second base at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. Helman is batting .541 with 12 home runs already on the season with 30 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. Along with his impressive power numbers Helman has only struck out six times this year and has walked 12 times. Helman is dominating conference play so far this year with a robust .645 batting average and 8 home runs in 8 games.
