Bombers Blowout Cane Cutters 14-0
Bryan-College Station, TX (August 1, 2016) – The Bombers took the field Monday night against the Acadiana Cane Cutters and took the game by a final of 14-0 to earn their 23rd win in 25 games. Hunter Neal went started on the mound for Brazos Valley and pair of big innings drove the Bombers in the blowout victory.
Neal eight innings and only gave up five hits and striking out 13 Cane Cutters. Riley McCauley came in during the ninth inning to close out the game and complete the shutout.
The Bombers started the scoring early with a first inning with a solo home run from Alex Samples, his third on the season. The team really opened up the scoring in the fourth inning with six runs scored off the strength of three RBI singles and then in the seventh the team tacked on five more runs.
Hunter Wilson went 2 for 4 with three runs scored, Spencer Hemphill went 1 for 3 on the night and two RBIs and three runs scored and Alex Samples went 1 for 2 with two walks, three RBIs, two runs scored and a home run.
The Bombers finish out the road set against the Cane Cutters tomorrow night in Louisiana. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
