Bombers Extend Win Streak
Bryan-College Station (July 9, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers took on the Woodlands Strykers in pursuit of their ninth straight victory, an achievement the team accomplished with a 6 – 4 win. This game also doubled as the Bombers final road game before returning home to Nutralbolt stadium for a two game set with the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
The Bomber offense took a balanced attack tonight by scoring runs in five different innings off of eight hits and nine walks. Tim Lichty made his debut for the Bombers tonight going 1 for 1 with a solo homerun and walked four times. John Grimsley also went 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Starting on the mound for the Bombers tonight was Steven Dressler. He went five innings, striking out four while giving up two runs, only one of which was earned, off five hits and two walks. Jake Cowan, Brady Tedesco, Ryan Mose and Riley McCauley came in to finish the game for the Bombers combining for four innings pitched and two runs given up off of three hits and two walks.
The Bombers return home tomorrow night for Mom and Son night at the ballpark. Gates open at 6 p.m. and first pitch is at 7:05.
