The Brazos Valley Bombers blasted Acadiana 13-2 Monday to win the TCL championship series 2-0 and claim their third consecutive league title.
The Bombers got an outstanding effort from starting pitcher Dakota Mekkes, who struck out ten and allowed just two hits and two runs in 6.1 innings of work.
Matt Valdez and Matt Hilston each drove in three runs for the Bombers. Hilston paced the squad with three hits.
The Bombers finish the season 45-9, and go an amazing 29-2 at their home park Cellucor Field.
