Bombers Split Series Against Pump Jacks
Bombers Look To Begin New Winning Streak On Thursday Against Acadiana
Tyler, TX (July 22, 2015) - On Wednesday night, the Brazos Valley Bombers attempted to complete a two-game series sweep of the East Texas Pump Jacks in Tyler. The ballgame was a pitchers' duel in which both teams fought hard until the very end.
Pitcher Heston Van Fleet threw eight strong innings for the Bombers only allowing three hits the entire game while striking out six Pump Jacks hitters. Despite Van Fleet's strong performance on the mound, the Bombers were unable to pull the victory, falling by a score of 1-0.
The Bombers’ record is now 32-7 overall and 13-3 in the second half.
The Bombers have two more road games on Thursday and Friday before their next game at Cellucor Field on Saturday, July 25. Saturday will be the first game of a two-game homestand against the Woodlands Strykers. That night will be Agricultural Night, sponsored by Molly Maids, featuring a petting zoo at the ballpark; as well as Kids Free Saturday, with free admission for children 13 and under, thanks to Chicken Express.
