Bryan-College Station, TX (April 30, 2014) – The Brazos Valley Bombers are proud to announce the returning of six key players from last year’s National Championship team. With such an accomplished 2013 season, the Bombers are looking forward to a strong and experienced team in 2014. Juniors, Horacio Correa III, Hunter Hagler and Nick Johnson with leading Sophomores Ford Moore, Eric Polivka, Blake Kopetsky, and Mike Walker, the 2014 Bombers are stacked with experience. After witnessing the successful impact these teammates had for the Brazos Valley Bombers last summer, they are confident that these players will play a major role in helping the Bombers become the first team to win back to back TCL titles in league history. Born and raised here in Bryan/College Station, this will be Sophomore Blake Kopetsky’s second season with the Brazos Valley Bombers. Kopetsky looks to enhance his already successful Bomber career with another terrific season. After capturing the Co- Freshman of the Year award Kopetsky established his dominance early on in the 2013 season and never looked back. Kopetsky finished sixth on the team with a .309 batting average and led all bombers in stolen bases. Sophomore Mike Walker will be joining the Bombers once again this summer from Trinity University. Walker made five impressive starts for the Bombers last summer as he posted a 0.81 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 33.1 innings during his 2013 season. Nick Johnson of Southeastern Oklahoma State University is bringing his experience and talent to the Ballpark for a third consecutive summer. Johnson had a solid season for the Bombers in 2013 posting a 2.90 ERA in 31 innings and striking out 22. Originally from Vidor, Texas Hunter Hagler returns to the Brazos Valley Bombers expecting another outstanding season. The Junior Outfielder, now at Oklahoma State, started his collegiate career at Panola Junior College, where he played in 52 games as a sophomore and led team with .354 batting average, four homers and 33 RBIs. During the regular season he finished with a .322 batting average which earned him third highest for the 2013 Bombers. Junior Horacio Correa III from University of Texas at San Antonio brings a competitive fire to the Bombers that fueled them toward their national Championship season in 2013. After finishing in the top five in several offences categories Correa III looks to improve on an already impressive Summer Collegiate career in 2014. Tyler Junior College product Eric Polivka looks to have a large impact this summer for the Brazos Valley Bombers. This season for TJC, Polivka is averaging 6.5 strikeouts per game and a solid ERA of 4.25. The final returning Bomber is also a local talent. Center Fielder Ford Moore brings a potent bat and excellent glove back to the ballpark this summer. After leading the Bombers with a .415 batting average in 2013 Moore looks to playing an entire summer with the Bombers and making a bigger impact on the offensive front. The Bombers start their season on the road against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on May 29th. Opening day is June 3rd versus the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
