Kurt Giller
On a very breezy Thursday night the Bombers get blown off course against the Texas Marshals. Despite earning more hits and strikeouts than the Marshals, the Bombers were unable to get enough runs across the plate and faced a 2-1 loss.
The game held a slow pace, with the only run in the first six innings coming from the Marshals in the top of the second off of a walk and a double. The Bombers were finally able to tie up the game in the bottom of the seventh when shortstop Matt Eureste slammed a solo homerun over the right field wall, his first homerun of the season. Unfortunately, the Bombers were unable to even gain the lead as the Marshals earned another run in the top of the eighth to put up the final score of 2-1.
Pitcher Kurt Giller dominated the mound for the Bombers for the first seven innings, with only three hits and five strikeouts. Logan Burch took the mound for Brazos Valley in the eighth, earning two strikeouts, and Rex Hill held down the ninth inning with two more strikeouts.
The Bombers take on the Marshals again tomorrow night at 7:05pm. Friday night is Faith Night at American Momentum Bank ballpark.
