Parker Ray, a junior out of Texas A&M, delivered a dominating performance on June 28 against the Victoria Generals in a battle of first- and second- place teams. The Texas A&M junior allowed just an unearned run on two hits through eight innings, walking only two while striking out 10. Although he didn’t get the win – it took extra innings for the Bombers to defeat Victoria – Ray did earn Brazos Valley’s third Warstic TCL Pitcher of the Week award this season. In two starts, the right-hander has 17 strikeouts in 15 innings to go with a 1-0 record and 1.20 ERA.
Bombers pitchers have earned the Pitcher of the Week title for three of the five total weeks this season. Brazos Valley pitchers also hold the top spots on all three pitching leader boards in the Texas Collegiate League. The Bombers remain ranked #2 in the country, making them the only team in the TCL to be nationally ranked.
The Bombers face the Texas Marshals at American Momentum Bank Ballpark on Wednesday at 7:05. Wednesday is also SUPPORT OUR TROOPS night, with free admittance for all veterans and active military with valid military ID.
