Bombers Give It Their All Against The Pump Jacks
The Bombers concluded their two games with the Pump Jacks tonight. After coming off a 11-1 victory, the Bombers traveled to Kilgore and took the Pump Jacks to extras before coming up short 1-0.
The Bombers had a tough time tonight offensively only registering five hits off of Pump Jack’s starter, Kyle Kubat, and one off of Jason Jester at the end of the game. Both first baseman James Wharton and second baseman Shea Pierce were 2 for 4 on the night with Wharton hitting his seventh double of the season. Both designated hitter Brad Porras and right fielder Bobby Butvin had one hit each to account for the other two hits.
Ryan Santhon started for the Bombers tonight. Santhon pitched six innings striking out seven batters while giving up four hits and no runs. Logan Burch came in and pitched 1.1 innings of solid relief. Franco Pace who was tagged with the loss and Nick Johnson came in to pitch the remainder of the game.
The defense provided great play defensively tonight behind the Bombers’ pitching staff making great plays when needed to help the staff get out of jams and make it through innings.
