Bobby Butvin Named TCL Player of the Week
The TCL Weekly Awards for week 4 were released today and the Brazos Valley Bombers, Bobby Butvin, snagged the honor of Player of the Week for the TCL. Butvin, a William Woods University Junior, only played in 3 games over the last week, but he surely made his presence known when he stepped to the plate. Butvin batted .400 with every one of his hits going for extra bases. June 26th Butvin smashed a double and his first home run of the season against the Generals. Four days later, Bobby Butvin added two more doubles against the Alexandria Aces. Butvin finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and earned himself the Player of the Week title for the Texas Collegiate League.
The Bombers are currently in McKinney for a double header today, before they return to American Momentum Bank Ballpark tomorrow evening to face the Cane Cutters. It’s a Family Friday presented by George Bush Presidential Library and Hollywood Night as we celebrate our Bombers Stars! Saturday wraps up the home stand against the Strykers on Kids Free Saturday thanks to Chicken Express and MLB Night presented by Scott & White Health Plan!
