Bryan-College Station, TX (April 27, 2007) – The Brazos Valley Bombers announced today two different ways anyone interested can join the team, even if they can’t hit a curve ball or throw 90 miles per hour. The Bombers will hold a job fair next weekend for those who want to work at home games during the summer. For students looking to enter the world of sports business and management, the team is still taking applications for its intensive internship program.

The Bombers job fair will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and 6th at team’s offices in Bryan. Area residents interested in working for the team on game days will have an opportunity to consider what jobs are available and review the job descriptions. Some of the jobs being offered include:

Section captains (ushers) to greet and direct fans in the seating areas.
Concessions, including serving or preparing food, wait staff, grill cook, and hawkers.
Ticket sellers and ticket takers.
Parking attendants and maintenance personnel.

Those who attend the job fair will be able to fill out applications at that time. Attendees will also get a chance to interview with a Bombers staff member when they visit, so applicants are encouraged to dress appropriately to make a positive impression. This is the primary hiring event for the Bombers, so those interested in working for the team this summer are strongly encouraged to attend.

The job fair will run from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, May 5th, and from noon until 5 pm on Sunday, May 6th. The Bombers’ offices are located at 405 Mitchell Street in Bryan, three blocks north of Villa Maria between Texas Avenue and Cavitt Avenue.

For those interested in a career in sports, the team offers the Bombers internship program. The program gives future sports executives a chance to take a first step into the industry by working with the franchise’s front office and game day operations. Unlike many internship opportunities, where interns are usually assigned to one department and get very little practical experience, participants in the Bombers program rotate through every functional area of the organization. The goal is to give interns experience in everything the team does, forming a foundation for a fruitful career in sports.

The Bombers are members of the nine-team Texas Collegiate League, one of the nation’s premier summer collegiate circuits. The Bombers begin their 48-game inaugural season on June 5 against the Coppell Copperheads.
