The 2009 FLO Bowl at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark was a huge success, as hundreds of Texas A&M freshman filled the ballpark throughout the day. The Freshman Leadership Organization powder puff tournament, along with musical performances from Preston Leatherman and Charlie Gore provided a full day of entertainment for all who participated.
The FLO Bowl is put on by MSC Fish, a student organization at Texas A&M University. Proceeds from the event went toward the Texas A&M High School Service Conference, which will take place next spring. The conference is a three day event for high school juniors and seniors that focuses on instilling servant leadership principles through community service, guest speakers and exposure to a real college environment. Proceeds from FLO Bowl will help pay for the students who normally would not be able to afford the conference fees.
Although it was the first time that the FLO Bowl was held at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, the success of the event will potentially turn it into an annual affair. The Bombers would like to thank MSC Fish and all who made FLO Bowl 2009 possible.
