With the debut of the new Field View Section at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, the Brazos Valley Bombers set the Texas Collegiate League attendance record for Tuesday night with 1,372 fans. The Field View Section was an instant hit, as fans had the opportunity to enjoy $0.50 beer all night long.
Coppell Copperheads’ ace pitcher Rett Varner had the Bombers handicapped all night, as he limited them to two runs and three hits over seven innings. The Copperheads continued their hot hitting and totaled 14 hits to win 12-2.
With four games remaining, the Bombers still hold a two game lead over the McKinney Marshals for the final remaining playoff spot.
The Bombers will go on the road tomorrow to face the East Texas Pump Jacks with hopes to clinch a playoff spot by the end of the series. Drew Flaniken will be on the mound for the Bombers, looking to set the team-record with his sixth win of the season.
