The Brazos Valley Bombers got their highest scoring output of the season tonight in front of over 1500 fans for Thirsty Thursday. The team collected 11 hits in an 8-2 win over the Pumpjacks to move within half a game of the Pumpjacks. Pitts also struck out 10 hitters in the win as the Bombers improved to 10-6 on the season.
The Bombers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Clifton Thomas lead off with a triple before John Hale singled him home on one of his two singles in the ballgame.
After the Pumpjacks had cut the lead to 2-1, Brazos Valley scored four more in the third to stretch the lead to 6-1. Brett Parsons extended his hitting streak to 12 games after collecting a double and single and also scoring a run.
The Bombers tacked on two more in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach at 8-2, where the game came to a close. Thomas, Casey Dykes, and Andre Rodriguez also had multi-hit games for the Bombers in the win as the Bombers extended their home winning streak to seven games.
The Bombers will have the next two days off before hitting the road to face off against the McKinney Marshals on Sunday. Brazos Valley will return home Wednesday for Margaritaville Wednesday, which features $2 Margaritas and $2 Draft Beer.
