The Brazos Valley Bombers fell to the Coppell Copperheads, 5-2 tonight, to earn a series split. The Bombers had several opportunities, but left 10 runners on base in the loss.
The Bombers were able to manage nine hits on the night, including multiple hit games from Casey Dykes, Brett Parsons and Robby Graham, but were unable to capitalize in critical situations. The Bombers also committed three errors in the loss.
Coppell got a strong pitching effort from their staff, as they used four pitchers to shut down the Bombers. The Copperheads also had nine hits, but were able to make the most of them in putting five runs on the board.
The Bombers will return home to host the U.S. Military All-Stars on Monday Feast, which will include $0.50 hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks. The first-place East Texas Pumpjacks will be coming to town Wednesday for Margaritaville Wednesday, which includes $2 Margaritas and $2 Draft Beer. The series will conclude with Thirsty Thursday, which gives fans an opportunity to enjoy $1 Draft Beer and $0.50 Soft Drinks.
