The Brazos Valley Bombers came up with an important victory over Victoria tonight to collect their third win in four days over the Generals. Joe Craven nearly hit for the cycle as the Bombers ran away with an impressive 5-1 win over Victoria.
Craven got things started early for the Bombers, as he hit a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Bombers on top. Brett Parsons and Andre Rodriguez also had multiple hits for the Bombers, who totaled 14 in the game.
Drew Flaniken, making his second start of the season, remained perfect as he pitched eight innings to pick up his second win. Flaniken scattered six hits and allowed just one unearned run in a masterful performance for the Bombers, who improved to 7-4 on the season. Joaquin Hinojosa pitched a perfect ninth inning for the Bombers to close out the game.
The Bombers will be heading off to Coppell tomorrow to face off against the Copperheads as they try to build up another win streak. Following the weekend matchup, the Bombers will be returning home to the Brazos Valley Monday to host the U.S. Military All-Stars on Monday Feast, which will include $0.50 hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks.
