Box Score
The Brazos Valley Bombers provided more late inning heroics tonight, as they rallied for the win over the Victoria Generals. The Bombers swept the home stand over Victoria and will look to keep the winning streak going tomorrow in Victoria.
In a game reminiscent of last night, the Bombers struggled to put runs across the plate and trailed the first six innings of the ballgame. The Generals threatened to break the game wide open several times, as they left 13 runners on base and left the bases loaded twice, but Kennedy Winn was able to keep the game close at 2-1 in favor of Victoria.
The Bombers were able to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Brett Parsons grounded out, scoring Joe Craven. The score stayed knotted up at 2 until the bottom of the ninth inning, when the Bombers brought the crowd to its feet.
Alan Harris started the inning off by legging out an infield single. Making his return from the injured pinkie, Clifton Thomas pinch ran for Harris and promptly stole second base. John Hale then laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Thomas over to third base and ninety feet away from victory. John Cannon gave the Bombers their first walk-off hit of the season, as he lined a two-strike pitch from Zachary Nuding in to right field to score Thomas and give the Bombers a 3-2 win.
The Bombers improved to 6-4 on the season with the win and will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow as they travel to Victoria to play a two game set against the league leaders, who dropped to 7-3 with the loss.
