Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark to Host NCBA Super Regional

Baseball is back at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark! This weekend, the Texas Tech and Sam Houston State club baseball teams will be meeting for a best-of-three series to determine the winner of the Super Regional in the National Club Baseball Association tournament.

The action will begin Friday night at 7:30 pm as the two teams will battle for an opportunity to advance to the NCBA World Series, which begins May 22 in Fort Myers, Florida. Game Two of the series will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, with the final game of the series beginning at 5:30 pm on Saturday should the teams split the first two games.

With between-innings contests like the Gold’s Gym Agility Race and the Dizzy Bat Race, the weekend series promises to provide the same fun and excitement that will be prevalent this summer when the Brazos Valley Bombers return to action for their third season of Texas Collegiate League Baseball.

The concession stand will be open with a wide range of options, including $2 bottled domestic beer and $3 imported beer, as well as hot dogs, peanuts and nachos. Admission for the weekend games is just $1, providing an affordable opportunity to see the exciting action.

Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark is home to the Brazos Valley Bombers, who are member of the Texas Collegiate League, one of the nation’s premier summer collegiate circuits. The ballpark plays host to numerous events year-round, including BooFest, Beerfest and Dia Del Nino, as well as Little League, high school and collegiate baseball games. The Bombers 48-game season begins on June 5 and runs through August 8, followed by the TCL playoffs and a championship series. Season tickets for the 2009 season are now on sale. More information is available by calling the Bombers ticket office at (979) 779-PLAY, visiting the Bombers office in Bryan, or logging on to the Bombers’ official web site at www.bvbombers.com.
