The Brazos Valley Bombers’ “Ambassador of Fun” was sent off to surgery earlier today to repair several substantial injuries that he sustained this past season. Known for his incredible toughness, KaBoom refused to miss any of the action during the season despite the tremendous pain he was enduring.
The Bombers’ explosive personality is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a few minor injuries that include several holes in his seams, a broken belt and broken shoe buckles. The injuries were sustained during the season, as he was racing a lucky Bombers’ fan in the KaBoom Challenge, and was tackled unexpectedly by Bombers’ catcher Brian Nelson.
He will also be visiting a retinal surgeon who will be performing extensive surgery to repair damage to the lower medial region of his left eye. In addition, KaBoom will be undergoing a fusal restoration operation to replace his fuse. Doctors believe the injury may have stemmed from a childhood freak accident that required 50 stitches years ago. The Bombers wish KaBoom a quick and safe recovery as he goes into surgery and begins his rehabilitation process.
