Where Are They Now? Spotlight on Former Players
Welcome to our "Where Are They Now?" series! We're thrilled to catch up with some of our former stars and share their exciting journeys. Our team has a proud tradition of nurturing talent, and it's always a joy to see where life has taken our alumni.
John Cannon
Cannon played for the Bombers in 2009, 2010, and 2011 as a catcher. Out of a total of 179 at bats in his 2011 season with the Bombers, the three-year letterman tallied 42 hits, 18 runs, and 22 RBIs.
Upon leaving the Bombers, Cannon closed out his collegiate baseball career in his fourth season with the University of Houston and graduated with a degree in Sports Administration. After which he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and played in their minor league system for six seasons.
Now, after spending six seasons as an assistant coach at Wharton County Junior College, Cannon is in his first season as an assistant coach for Houston Christian University. Cannon and the Huskies open their season Feb. 14 against Central Michigan.
We hope you enjoyed this dynamic look back at one of our former players and his current adventures. Stay tuned for more updates in our "Where Are They Now?" series, as we continue to celebrate the achievements of our alumni both on and off the field every Friday.
