State beat powerhouse #6 Rice two games out of three to take the series. Dustin Rasco gave Bomber fans plenty of reason to be excited about the upcoming season as he gave two dominating efforts this past weekend. In game 1, Rasco got the win, striking out the side in the 9th inning as the Dirtbags beat Rice 1-0. In the series finale,

State lost 3-1, but Rasco was stellar again, pitching 1.2 innings with 2 strikeouts.
John Touchton got plenty of work of this weekend, helping the
University of
Houston win 2 games out of three against
Pacific
University . In the first game, he pitched an inning and gave up 1 hit, allowing no runs, while collecting the save. He returned to action with runners on base and 1 out in the ninth inning of game 3 and stemmed the tide to collect his first win of the young season. He struck out both batters to seal the deal in the 1-0 win.
Garrett Duff also pitched an inning for Southeastern Conference powerhouse Ole Miss as they dominated
Minnesota 15-4 to complete a 3 game sweep. Bomber save leader from the inaugural season - Tyler Davis got the start for
McNeese
State against Louisiana Tech, striking out 7 in 4 innings, but got the loss as Lousiana Tech won 14-5 on their way to a three game sweep.
The Bombers are looking forward to a great season as they prepare for the summer games. The pitching staff looks to be shaping into one of the most dominating in the TCL with Rasco, Touchton, Duff all off to a great start in the college baseball season.
