Brazos Valley Bombers Welcome Two Pairs of Siblings to 2024 RosterBryan-College Station, TX - May 20, 2024 – The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce two sets of brothers who will be joining this year’s team. The four all look to provide a spark for the Bombers batting lineup for this upcoming Texas Collegiate League campaign.
The first player is Ty Hodge. Hodge, a native of College Station, currently plays his college ball for Houston Christian University. After spending the 2022 season with Texas A&M, the infielder has started all 49 games for the Huskies this year and sports a .249 batting average with three home runs, 19 RBI, and nine stolen bases.
“Ty will be one of our more experienced players on the roster this summer,” Manager Brian Nelson said. “He has logged quite a few innings at the short-stop position at a high level. We expect him to anchor our defense up the middle and provide a consistent threat in the lineup.”
Joining Ty is his younger brother, Nathan Hodge. Nathan, another College Station product, recently finished his senior season at A&M Consolidated High School and has committed to playing for Division 1 Houston Christian University next baseball season.
“Starting this year in the TCL, each team is allowed two roster spots for local players who have recently finished their high school careers and have committed to play collegiate baseball,” Nelson said. “Nathan, like his brother, has a high baseball IQ and plays the game fundamentally well. There will be a period of transition for Nathan, but he is athletic and plays the game hard- I expect him to quickly adjust and compete at a high level.”
Next up is outfielder Jaxon Daigre. The Pinehurst, Texas native currently plays for St Mary’s University in San Antonio and previously played for Blinn College. Daigre brings some TCL experience to the squad, having appeared in six games for the Acadiana Cane Cutters during the 2022 TCL season.
“Jaxon is a very versatile and athletic player who will bring a lot of effort and versatility to our squad this season,” Nelson said. “Jaxon has quality experience on the infield and in the outfield and will be a nice piece for our offense.”
Rounding off the second wave of signings is Jaxon’s younger brother, Zac Daigre. A utility player who is also a native of Pinehurst, Texas, Zac comes to the Bombers after a stellar freshman season at Galveston College, which saw him compile a .316 batting average and steal a team-best 48 bases in 56 games.
“Zac is an exciting player that can help ignite our offense this season,” Nelson said. “Coming off of his outstanding freshman year, we are excited for what he can contribute in the batter’s box, and on the base paths.”
The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to welcome these sets of brothers to the 2024 roster and look forward to making a run at another Texas Collegiate League Championship. For more information about the Bombers and tickets for the upcoming 2024 season, visit bvbombers.com, or call 979-779-PLAY.
