Bombers secure a Big Win Against the Cane Cutters at HomeBryan-College Station, TX (June 14, 2023) – The Bombers had a great game on both offense and defense resulting in a needed win tonight against the Cane Cutters. The final score was 7-2 this evening at Edible Field and the crowd was electric as the Bombers earned several runs and hits keeping the energy strong all night. The Bombers will be home tomorrow night to take on the River Monsters in hopes of securing yet another victory! This Brazos Valley team had 13 hits tonight and improved being able to convert 7 of these, propelling them past their opponents and earning a good victory. In the very first at bat of the game Casey Sunseri earned a leadoff triple deep into right field showing how this team wanted the game to go proving their dominance from the start. Later in the inning Casey advances home on a catching error for the bombers first run of the evening. In the second inning Robert Oropeza stole second and Casey Sunseri continued to show off his skills with a double sending Robert home for the Bombers second run. Also in the second, Cole Modgling logged a base hit and Casey got home for the third run of the night. Cole Modgling also showed off his great speed with a stolen second base as well.
In the third inning, Ben Columbus earned a base hit as well as one from Maddox Miesse in the same inning. The fourth inning was great defensively with the pitching staff performing very well only allowing two runs all night. Erick Martinez, who was definitely the player of the game tonight earned a triple into center field showing off his consistency at the plate. Casey continued to prove why he is the best hitter in this league with another base hit through the six hole to send Erick Martinez home and stole second shortly after.
In the fifth inning, Maddox Miesse hit a single to right field and Erick Martinez logged a base hit through 6 hole advancing Maddox to third base. In the sixth, Cameron Donley earned a base hit, as well as performing really well tonight behind the plate as catcher, scoring Ben Columbus and Cole Modgling for the Bombers final runs tonight. Eric Martinez closed out the action tonight after an amazing game with a double deep into center as his momentum tonight allowed his team to win this game and showing a very positive trend in his great hitting.
