Pitching Battle Ends With Bomber Victory
Final score is 1-0 to give Bombers fifth straight win
Bryan-College Station (July 6, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers traveled down to Victoria, TX to take on the Generals for the first of a two game trip. The Bombers got into a pitching matchup and were able to win tonight’s game by a score of 1-0.
The Bombers registered seven hits in the game with the lone run for the team was scored by Ben Hollas and came in the second inning. Hollas reached base after being hit by a pitch and eventually came around to score on a passed ball.
McGregor Hines started on the mound for the Bombers and went six innings with seven strikeouts. Hines only gave up five hits in the start before handing the ball over to Miguel Ausua who only gave up a single hit in two innings of work. Riley McCauley struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth to wrap up the game for the Bombers.
The Bombers are back in Victoria tomorrow night to wrap up the series.
