Bombers Win Close One vs. Acadiana
Bryan-College Station (June 27, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers took on the Acadiana Cane Cutters in the second game of the series. The team was able to bounce back and pick up a 5-3 win Monday night following the loss on Sunday. The win was powered by extra base hits and a strong performance from the bullpen.
The first turn through the lineup was uneventful for the Bombers but the offense was able to get things rolling in the fourth inning with an RBI from outfielder Ben Hollas. The team opened up a four run lead in the fifth inning with a two run triple from Logan Bottrell who would later come home to score. The Bombers added one more on a solo homer from Zach McGuire to push the lead to five runs.
Brett Seeburger started the game for the Bombers and went five and two-thirds innings and struck out seven. Seeburger got through the first five innings unscathed before giving up three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The game was then turned over to Riley McCauley who went three and one-third innings without surrendering a hit and striking out eight of the ten batters he came up against.
The Bombers return home on Tuesday to face the Texas Marshals. Bring the family out for nine innings of entertainment and a pregame concert from Mini-Elvis. The concert will start at 6:45 and first pitch will be at 7:35.
