Bombers Win Streak Over at 8 Games
Bryan-College Station (June 17, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers entered the night looking to extend their eight game winning streak on the road against the Victoria Generals. The team had a dominant road trip coming into the night and was looking for the sixth consecutive road game victory before returning home to Nutrabolt Stadium.
The Bombers were led by outfielder John Grimsley who went 3 for 4 and scored two runs, the second of which gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Bombers starting pitcher, Hunter Neal, went six and one-third innings while giving up two runs before turning it over to the bullpen. The Bombers entered the ninth inning tied with the Generals, 3-3, before losing the game in heart breaking fashion following a walk off single in the bottom of the ninth.
The walk-off by the Generals ended the Bombers eight game win streak, six of which came on the road.
