Sold out crowd watched Bombers Fireworks on and off the field
An overflowing crowd watched as the Brazos Valley Bombers took on the Woodlands Strykers on a Friday Fireworks. The Bombers got on the board quickly by scoring 5 runs in the first on the way to a comfortable win for Brandon Barbary who cruised through 5 innings giving up one unearned run.
Darrien Williams had a standout night, going 2 for 2 at the plate with a pinch-hit in the bottom of the 6th inning. To add to the exceptional pitching performance and plate appearances for the Bombers, the team’s speed had an effect on the game as well, resulting in 8 stolen bases.
The Bombers 1st fireworks show of the year paid a tribute with a musical soundtrack to the great American artist Prince to the delight of the sold out crowd.
Big things are planned at Nutrabolt Stadium for tomorrow. Events will start off at 5:00pm with the Chamber Community Softball Classic. The Bombers will play their fourth consecutive home game and continue the series against the Woodlands Strykers. Kids Free Saturday, sponsored by Chicken Express, will have a Star Wars themed night, thanks to Urban Optics, and a Star Wars Jersey Auction.
