Offensive Onslaught Propels Bombers Over Copperheads, extends win-streak to Four

The Bombers took their winnings ways to road Wednesday night by extending their current win-streak to four games with a convincing 11-3 victory over the Coppell Copperheads. The Brazos Valley offense was electric during the entirety of the game, and the fantastic pitching we've seen over the past few nights continued, as every facet of the Bombers appeared to be clicking on all cylinders.

The story of the evening was the Bomber offense lighting up the scoreboard for eleven runs on ten hits. The top of the fourth inning was especially good to the Bombers, who saw fifteen plate appearances during the frame. During that inning, Brazos Valley displayed great patience, working seven walks, and power by way of a Justin Padron RBI double and a Christian Soberanes grand slam home run. The Copperhead starter, Jacob Lara, was pulled after just three and two-thirds, after coming into the contest with a 2-0 record and a spotless 0.00 ERA. Both Trey Porras and Padron contributed with outstanding nights at the plate. Padron had a three hit game, including his RBI double, while Porras had four hits and reached base all five at bats. With the comfort of a big lead early, Drew Olsen had a wonderful outing and was able to breeze through the Coppell lineup, pitching six strong, fanning five, and allowing no runs.

The team will finish the second half of their series at Coppell Thursday night as they look to extend their current streak to five consecutive wins. The Bombers will return home Friday night to face Alexandria this weekend. Friday's game is Auction Night at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, where fans will be able to bid on authentic game-worn jerseys from their favorite players. Saturday night's game is "Bark in the Park" night and will feature the first Kids Free Saturday, where both kids and dogs will get in FREE, and the kids will enjoy free food and tickets to the UPA Kids Zone at the park.
