Bombers Mound Took the Victory
Bryan-College Station, TX (June 25, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers win wearing custom uniforms for Leon day – as the Ugly Sweaters lead the pitching staff to a stellar performance and a 5-1 victory against the Woodlands Strykers. The pitching staff led by Willy Amador combined to have fourteen strikeouts only allowing two hits, one run, and two walks.
The Bombers were able to jump to an early lead scoring two runs in the bottom of the first. The Bombers never gave that lead up scoring runs in the third, fourth, and sixth inning. Offensively, Anthony Herrera made an all-star play after an over-the-shoulder catch hit by Strykers player, Ivan Vera.
Kids Free Saturday, presented by Chicken Express, celebrated the halfway mark to Christmas with Leon Day, brought to you by American Sleep Center.
Amador, a Bryan native, got off to a hot start retiring the first fourteen batters he faced. Amador pitched the first seven innings until Austin Kerns and Juan Valdez made their way to the mound having a combined record of five strikeouts with no hits.
The Bombers return to Nutrabolt Stadium on Trophy Tuesday presented by Avant Garde College Prep Service Prep for a mini-Elvis pre-game concert, as gates open at 6pm.
