Sweep of Cane Cutters Gives Bombers Home-Field Throughout Playoffs

Lafayette, LA (June 26, 2015) - The Brazos Valley Bombers showed the resilience of a champion on Friday night, scoring four runs in the late innings to knock off the Acadiana Cane Cutters by a score of 4-1.

The back-to-back TCL champions were locked in a scoreless battle with the Cane Cutters until the home team took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Bombers responded with two runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth inning to put Acadiana away for good.

The win gives the Bombers a four game winning streak and improved their record to 16-4, with four games remaining in the first half of the season.

The Bombers will return home to Cellucor Field tomorrow night to begin a two-game series against the Woodlands Strykers with Superhero Night, presented by TEEX; featuring special superhero-themed uniforms to be worn by the Bombers players. Tomorrow night will also be Kids Free Saturday, with children 13 and under receiving free admission into the ballpark thanks to Chicken Express; as well as the fourth fireworks extravaganza of the 2015 season, presented by BTU.

The second game of the series, taking place on Sunday night, will be Pets in the Park Night and Baseball Bingo, presented by Brazos Bingo. Seniors will have free admission into the ballpark. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
